HEALING THROUGH THE ARTS AND MOVEMENT KRU
ADRIAN “AJ” FLORES | THE HIP HOP PROJECT
Adrian “AJ” Flores is a 23 year old hip hop artist, born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA of Science in Radio/Television/Film. Currently building his production company, he enjoys collaborating with local artist/talent to translate his visions into film. He’s had the opportunity to choreograph for Love and Hip Hop Miami star, Amara La Negra at SXSW. His passion is creative directing live performances for hip hop artist/musicians in order to create unique visual experiences for an audience to enjoy. In addition, AJ teaches interpretive hip hop classes as a way to create a space for students to explore their own artistry within hip hop music. This space allows students to break through barriers, step out of their comfort zone and transcend limiting beliefs. His teaching philosophy is to give people tools/keys to unlock an understanding of the spirituality that you feel when one feels music.
He believes “raising consciousness” or “to open ones eyes” is the 5th element of Hip hop; aside from basic 4 elements (breaking, graffiti, MC, DJ).
