NOT A GYMNASTICS CLASS
Breakin’ at Danzversity is rooted in Hip Hop culture, not in flips and tricks. Foundation before flash — always. Students learn where every move comes from, why it matters, and how it connects to the broader Hip Hop culture they experience in their regular classes.
This is for students ages 8–17 who want to learn a complete discipline — with its own vocabulary, physical demands, cultural history, and community ethic.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Real breakin’ vocabulary across four foundational categories. Progression is based on demonstrated control — not time.
TOPROCK
Standing footwork and rhythm patterns. The beginning of every set. Apache Step, Brooklyn Rock, Cross Step, Salsa Step.
DOWNROCK
Floor-based footwork on hands and feet. 6-step, 3-step, CC — the vocabulary that defines your style on the ground.
FREEZES
Held positions that punctuate a set and demonstrate control. Baby Freeze, Chair Freeze, Headstand variations.
POWER MOVES
Dynamic spinning and momentum-based movements. Windmill intro, Backspin — earned through foundation, not rushed.
EVERY CLASS STARTS WITH A CULTURE DROP
Your child won’t just learn the moves — they’ll learn where the moves come from. Who built this. What crew, what era, what borough. That’s the Danzversity way.

8-WEEK BREAKIN’ SERIES
Full series only — no drop-in. The series ends with a showcase performance.
Every Series Ends on Stage
At the end of each cycle, breakin’ students perform at the Danzversity Showcase — in front of family, friends, and the full Danzversity community. This is what you’re building toward.
Where This Leads
Students who build their foundation and show up for their crew move up to the Breakin’ Team — from the cipher to the stage, and eventually the competition floor.

Breakin’ is Hip Hop. It belongs here. But it belongs here on its own terms.
